What’s the cost of winning? After the assault of one of their own, three soccer players are forced to confront the dark realities of being female college athletes in the American University System while also just trying to be young women in a world that would rather them be machines.

Matilda Corley Schulman is a former NCAA D1 Equestrian (yes, she’s a horse girl) now writer/actor living in Los Angeles who finds herself sharing stories made up of one part rebellion, one part heartbreak, and a little bit of magic. As she likes to say, she is a writer of westerns in every different font and is most excited to keep writing stories that give a voice to women that have been told to quiet down too many times — and maybe in the process, make us all feel a bit less alone. She holds a BA from UC Berkeley (a transfer from Oklahoma State University) and an MFA from USC. Her plays, pilots, and features have been recognized by the O’Neill, Stowe, AFF, Coverfly, Stage 32, and more. She was also named to Coverfly x Tracking Board’s Next List 2024. Her modern western LARK has been named,Finalist Outstanding Screenplays Features ’25, Semifinalist Austin Film Festival ’24, Grand Jury Prize Feature Richmond International Film Festival, Top 5 Finalist Manchester Film Festival ’24. And her pilot BLOODY NOSES (based on the play of the same name) was a chosen participant in STOWE STORY LABS’ CONNEMARA WRITERS RETREAT ’24.
