
Copernicus, Darwin and Freud Walk into a Bar
Maude’s closing her pub for the evening, when Jack, a struggling playwright, stops by. As he’s telling Maude about his writing frustrations, Copernicus, Darwin, and Freud enter. Upon hearing of Jack’s writer’s block, they admit that it may actually be their fault, but perhaps they can offer him a solution.
Many of my plays have been produced or have received staged readings. A number of plays – including A.R@Uni.Gov, The Kindness of Strangers, Goat Song Revel, The Canterbury Tales Revisited, and Sense & Insensibility – have been published. My plays have been produced in theaters across the country, from New York to Los Angeles, as well as in Canada, Mexico, India, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Several short screenplays have been produced as well as a feature length film I helped write, titled The Donor Conspiracy. A number of radio plays have been produced and broadcast nationally.
John is an award winning actor and veteran of more than 100 episodic and commercial appearances for television. He has appeared at the Road in the role of Doug in the critically acclaimed production of John Is a Father and in the role of Vince in Finding Fossils. He has directed countless productions for the Road’s Summer Playwright’s Festival. His most recent exciting accomplishment: appearing as Ward Evans in the Academy Award winning film Oppenheimer. John is a graduate of Education and Theatre Arts from Frostburg State University in Maryland.
