Important Information for Our Road Family and Friends
Dear Patrons of The Road Theatre Company,
As concerns and advisories of the Coronavirus/COVID-19 continue, we want to inform you that your health, safety and peace of mind are our top priority.
As of now, our Lankershim Arts Center location has been closed by direction of the Cultural Affairs Department, effective immediately. All Center programming has been suspended until further notice. For information about the city guidelines, visit LAMayor.org/Coronavirus
The Magnolia location has suspended all programming, including the Monday night Word reading series, through the end of the month. All readings suspended during the month of March will be rescheduled.
At this time, we are planning to proceed with our final show of our season, Scintilla, which is scheduled to open April 24th at the Magnolia location, as well as our Word reading of The Whirligig on April 27, also at the Magnolia location. We will keep you updated on the status of all productions and programs in the days to come as we follow the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health guidelines.
In terms of The Road’s programming for the summer, we are strategizing all options and will continue to give you updates in the future.
For additional information regarding COVID-19 and guidelines to help keep yourself and others healthy, we recommend you visit the CDC website: https://www.cdc.gov/
Thank you for your loyal support of The Road Theatre. We hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
The Road Theatre Staff
As we all know, local and state policies are fluid and evolving swiftly concerning the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Art organizations across the state must now make difficult choices regarding future programming in the wake of this crisis, including The Road Theatre Company.
Following local and state government recommendations and after thorough conversations with both Artistic and Corporate Boards, the decision has been made to postpone our production of Scintilla until September 2020. This decision was not made lightly, but we believe it is the right decision to ensure the health and safety of our community.
If you have already purchased a ticket (or tickets), please know our Box Office will be in touch to reschedule your date. If none of the upcoming dates (TBD) are acceptable and you need to be refunded, we will accommodate your request, as well. Alternatively, you may elect to donate the ticket to the Road (and any theatre you might have tickets for if that is a possibility) should you be unable to reschedule. The need for donations now is greater than ever.
