Stephen Belber’s plays have been produced on Broadway and in over 25 countries. They include Match, Tape, McReele, Fault Lines, The Power of Duff, Dusk Rings A Bell, and many others. He was an Associate Writer/actor for The Laramie Project, and co-writer/actor on The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later, both of which have been consistently performed around the world. He’s written & directed 3 feature films: Management (Jennifer Aniston/Woody Harrelson), Match (Patrick Stewart/Carla Gugino), and What We Do Next (Karen Pittman/Corey Stoll). Film scripts include Tape (Ethan Hawke/Uma Thurman, directed by Richard Linklater), The Laramie Project (associate writer, Emmy nomination), and O.G. (released on HBO, starring Jeffery Wright, who won Best Actor at the Tribeca Film Festival). Three film remakes of Tape are being released in 2025—-in India, Denmark and Hong Kong. In television, he recently created and show-ran the Netflix series, The Madness, starring Colman Domingo, which premiered in 2024 and topped weekly streaming and Nielson charts for 2 weeks in a row, with 2.2 billion minutes watched in its first week. He’s currently developing a show for Jennifer Aniston at Paramount. Past credits include Law & Order SVU, Rescue Me, Tommy, The First, and numerous pilots. His plays have starred Frank Langella, Anthony Mackie, Ray Liotta, Noah Emmerich, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Kate Walsh, Jeffrey Demunn, Michael Cristofer, Greg Kinnear, Josh Lucas, Johanna Day… In film he’s developed with Bennett Miller, Richard Linklater, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Todd Phillips, Jay Roach, Will Smith, David Gordon Green, and many others.
