A storm is coming, and Sam is stuck in a hospital bed, hoping his ex-wife will come for a visit before it’s too late. His nurse Alex just wants to get home, even though no one is waiting for him. Two strangers come together to reckon with their longings and regrets.

Katherine Swan is a playwright, actor, and director who lives in Chicago. Her script for Act Five, an imagined fifth act of Anton Chekov’s The Cherry Orchard, was recently performed as part of A Red Orchid Theatre’s Incubator Series in Chicago. Her play Pony was a winner of the Carlow Little Theatre’s 2021-22 International One Act Play Competition in Carlow, Ireland. Her play Bench is slated for publication in the Smith & Kraus anthology Best Ten-Minute Plays, 2023.
