Judith Benson is “teacher-famous” for the award-winning student newspaper she proudly oversees at her small Indiana high school, a program that extols truth and integrity in journalism. But when an anti-gay hate crime occurs one fall, everything Judith believes about inspiring the next generation of reporters, and the definition of truth itself, is called into question.
Erik Gernand’s plays have been in production and/or development at theaters including Premiere Stages (Union, NJ), Redtwist, American Theater Company, and Chicago Dramatists (all Chicago), Actors Theatre of Louisville, as well as The Barrow Group (NYC). As a filmmaker, his award-winning short films have screened at more than 100 film festivals around the world including SXSW, Chicago International Film Festival, and Cinequest, as well as been broadcast on IFC, PBS, and the Logo Channel. Erik is graduate of Ball State University and an Associate Professor of Instruction in Radio-TV-Film at Northwestern University.
Taylor Nichols, has been working in the entertainment industry for almost 30 years. This is his Lucky 13th SPF and as always the most enjoyable part is seeing the writers words come to life with the amazing actors from the Road Theatre company. He has had the opportunity to work with such Golden Age of Hollywood stars like Angela Lansbury, Shelley Winters, James Garner and Charlton Heston. Recent credits include the Emmy nominated Pen15 and HBO’s Perry Mason. Taylor is an award winning short filmmaker having directed Two Heterosexual Men… and Last Train. He began his career with the Academy Award nominated Metropolitan, Barcelona and 1BR and TV credits include series regular roles on Mind of the Married Man, Man of the People and many recurring roles on other shows. His theater credits include working at the Geffen Theater in Los Angeles and Playwrights Horizon in NYC. He is on faculty as an acting teacher at the UCLA school of Theater, Film and Television.
